Docs PR: Meshery MCP Server extension README section

Hi all,

I’m Omolade Akinwumi. I’ve opened a docs PR to add a “Meshery MCP Server extension” section to the README of the meshery-mcp-server repo so the project clearly describes what the extension is and what the initial scope includes.

From the maintainer call and announcement, my understanding of the initial MCP Server scope (in priority order) is:

  1. Creation of Meshery designs.
  2. Retrieval of designs in the user’s requested file format.
  3. Snapshotting of Meshery designs.
  4. Design deployment dry-run results.
  5. Definition, invocation, and results of performance tests.

This topic is just to surface that PR and invite any feedback on the wording or on whether this scope reflects the current vision. I’d like the README to be a helpful starting point for new contributors and potential maintainers.

Thanks,
Omolade

@Omolade_Akinwumi, thank you for following @Cooper’s instructions. You might be the only one to have done so out of the great many number of respondents. I saw and previously passed along your longer email to the rest of the Meshery maintainers.

In short, you’re in. It’s a self-directed initiative. Your list of items in the “On approach:” section of your email is thoughtful and are spot on. Let’s roll.

@Yash.Sharma, @Cooper, @Yi_Nuo, @mia heads-up.

@Omolade_Akinwumi, not that you need to wait until Wednesday to get rolling, but we hope to see you in this week’s Meshery Dev meeting - https://meet.meshery.io.

Thanks so much, Lee. I really appreciate the clarity and encouragement. I’ll keep pushing the MCP Server docs and design forward.

This is noted. Thanks Yi.

@Omolade_Akinwumi, no agenda items from you this week? I see MCP Server agenda items from other contributors…

thanks for the nudge, Lee. I’ve now added MCP Server updates to this week’s dev minutes (docs overview PR, initial DESIGN.md PR, and an issue for the “list designs” MCP tool),
